Asbestos Awareness
How to work safely in workplaces which contain asbestos.
Description
This course meets the legal requirements for employee online asbestos training. Throughout the course, learners are guided through what asbestos is and why it is so dangerous; where it might be found; what the legal requirements are to manage asbestos if it is found; and what to do if asbestos materials are disturbed or damaged. It also includes information about different types of surveys, registers, and management plans, so that learners understand the measures that are in place now for identifying and assessing asbestos wherever and whenever it is suspected to be present. The message in this course is that all asbestos is dangerous if disturbed, but that the risk can be managed. The course explains the consequences of disturbance, and describes how to work safely in workplaces which contain asbestos. It does not cover how to remove asbestos.
